Our Landscape Design Service

Designscapes, Inc. has served clients in the following Michigan counties:  Saginaw, Bay, Midland, Genesee, Oakland, Huron, Lapeer, Shiawassee, and Tuscola.  We have also helped our clients with their vacation properties / homes around Bay Harbor, Petoskey, Traverse City, and Harbor Springs (Emmet, Charlevoix, and Grand Traverse Counties).

Designscapes, Inc. has helped numerous clients achieve the results they desire.  In working with us, you will receive significant benefits.  You will be collaborating with an experienced design team to create the look you want.  Once completed, this design gives you the option of either installing the work yourself or receiving “apples to apples” bids for the installation by others.  This competitive bidding process usually more than pays for creating the design and bid documents.  The result is an outstanding landscape design, a competitive price, and someone to follow through with the installation.  Our projects range in size from an intimate backyard patio or deck to a large commercial development.

Getting Started

Site Analysis

Our design approach is as follows:

  • An initial consultation at your home or business to discuss ideas for the project.
  • Measure the areas of your property slated for improvement.
  • Complete a base plan showing existing structures and significant plants and trees.
  • Generate ideas with you to create several concept plans to evaluate.
  • Complete construction drawings based on the concept plan you approve.
  • Develop bid documents, solicit contractor bids, and evaluate the bids with you.

Your landscape installation contract will be between you and the contractor of your choice. Designscapes does not serve as a general contractor or add a percentage on to the work. This allows us to be your advocate during the planning and implementation of your project.

Designscapes can also provide you with project management services during the installation of your landscape, to ensure that your project is completed per plan and bid by:

  • Holding regular meeting at your site with your contractor, checking the work and ensuring compliance with the design.
  • Solving problems if any occur.
  • Reviewing contractor billings.
  • Provide follow-up as required to complete the project to your satisfaction.
  • Ensure completion of warranty work.
